1984 Onan US Military MEP-003a (DJC),I have for sale a surplus US Military Diesel genset. It's a low speed(1800 RPM), 4 cylinder Onan Diesel capable of 18kw. It can operate in single phase 120/240 or three phase 120/208Y. It is in perfect operating condition and is one of the models still in service with the armed forces. It has only 596 hours, brand new batteries and new filters. The fuel filtration system has been upgraded to a spin-on filter rather than the original three element canister style system. The generator is built on a heavy duty aluminum tactical skid, has fork slots on the sides for moving and a center balanced lift hook on top for hoisting with a chain. It's designed to live outdoors in the most extreme conditions, has glow plugs, an intake heater an exteme cold weather damper to draw intake air in from over the hot exhaust and an auxiliary fuel pump to draw fuel from a secondary source such as a 55gal drum, etc. This generator is over built and tougher than anything on the commerical market. If your looking for rugged, dependable power, look no further. Watch the attached video. It's a demonstration of the generator powering a 15kw load. You can see the meters bounce a little as the load is toggled on and off. It clearly has no problem with a 15kw load being switched on and off. The generator hold 208V @ 60hz without a problem. The needle bouncing is the load being toggeled on and off. If you listen closely, you can hear the generator fueling up and down as the load is applied and removed.
